What happens after the euthanasia?
There are several options for handling your pet's remains after euthanasia. It is best to discuss these options with your family before your visit. Treasured Friend can accommodate whatever your family chooses. If you choose cremation we will handle the transportation.
Private Cremation
The pet is cremated individually and ashes are returned to the owner in an urn. Private cremation is more expensive than communal cremation.
Communal Cremation
The pet is cremated with other pets and the ashes are not returned.
Cemetery Burial
There are several pet cemeteries around Baton Rouge. This is a great way to memorialize your pet.
Home Burial
Burying pets on private property is legal in Louisiana, however there are some restrictions we will discuss if your family chooses home burial.
