Dr. Rosey Kelley graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She practiced companion and exotic animal medicine and surgery for several years in Colorado, then Dr. Kelley returned to her hometown of Baton Rouge. Dr. Kelley started Treasured Friend Vet in early 2012 to help Baton Rouge area families say a peaceful and dignified goodbye at home. When not working, Dr. Kelley is active in performance dog sports, especially agility. ![]() |
The inspiration for Treasured Friend Vet was my border collie Red Rover. Red became ill, and it was obvious that he was suffering and was not going to recover. When his time came I knew I did not want his last moments to be in the hospital where we were treating him but at home. Although heartbreaking, Red's home euthanasia was peaceful and private and is actually a very comforting memory to me. I realized all pets and families deserve a dignified and compassionate goodbye at home in comfort, and Treasured Friend Veterinary Services makes that possible. In loving memory of my treasured friend ![]() |
